The rule of thumb: plan for one favor per adult guest, then add a small buffer of about 10%. So if you’re inviting roughly 100 adults, plan for 100 to 110 favors. That extra cushion covers the couple of guests who RSVP late, the one that gets dropped, and any piece that arrives less than perfect.

Here’s what the math looks like at common guest counts:
- 50 guests: order 50-55
- 75 guests: order 75-85
- 100 guests: order 100-110
- 150 guests: order 155-165
- 200 guests: order 205-220
When you count your list, remember to include plus-ones. It’s easy to tally invitations instead of the actual number of people attending.
Do children need favors?
Most couples don’t give favors to small children. Kids rarely care about a keepsake favor, and it’s an easy place to trim the count. If you want to acknowledge younger guests, a small separate treat or activity often goes over better than an engraved keepsake they won’t appreciate yet.
